Mason Middle School Renovation

Mason Middle School Renovation

  • The 267,000 SF Middle School Renovation is an aggressive, fast-track one year schedule upgrading all architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems. The school district temporarily relocated the 1,798 students to expedite construction.
  • The existing structure has been added on/renovated 6 previous times (1959, 1967, 1980, 1987, 1997, & 2006) complicating the renovations with different construction types.
  • The high school basketball gym is located within the middle school, and the 2018-19 basketball season will be held in the gymnasium while construction ensues in the rest of the building. This requires that all components of the HVAC system and life safety be operational for the owners use.
  • The exterior of the building is receiving a face lift, with new “Moss Green” EFIS coating at the northwest corner of the building as well as a complete new roof system.
  • The buildings interior is completely renovated with brand new HVAC systems, kitchen concepts & equipment, security & fire alarm systems, lighting, data cabling & wireless HVAC controls, hard tile & carpet flooring, as well as paint & casework/furniture.
